What is visual notetaking? Having students use simple images to synthesize content and demonstrate understanding. Kids learn to draw before they write, and pictures are how they make sense of the world. Formerly referred to as doodling, this research based tool benefits students and is a great way to demonstrate mastery and increase engagement. Come to this course to practice creating a visual vocabulary, learning basic tools for this type of notetaking and gaining resources to support your integration within the classroom. Attendees will gain specific learning and teaching techniques, get exemplars and templates for immediate implementation, and will see actual student generated products of notetaking and projects to demonstrate mastery learning. Additionally free tools such as Google Drawings, Canva, Piktochart and Coolors will be utilized to show how to digitize this tool for all learners.
